Common ailments in childhood
There are a variety of common ailments in childhood which may not be formally touched upon in the lecture program, but which are frequently encountered in paediatric practice. This lecture will concentrate on these (usually) minor problems such as temperature measurements, antipyretics, coughs and colds, rashes, feeding, colic etc
Cardiac murmurs are the most common cardiac ‘problem’ encountered in paediatric practice, and are the commonest reason for hospital referral. This lecture will describe the various types of innocent murmurs, and will also describe cardinal signs in the evaluation of pathological murmurs, both auscultatory and non-auscultatory.

These 2 lectures will go through cardiac problems in paediatric practice, and will deal with congenital heart disease, arrhythmias (namely supraventricular tachycardia), and Kawasaki disease.
